Preliminary Task

Uploaded By Jane Turner & L'viany Olol

This is the prelim task that I made with LV in AS media, the task was to recreate the ring trailer as best we could trying to use the same frames that were used in the actual trailer.

• Camera - We had used camera's before in our previous work but when we came to do this task we had to do things slightly differently. For example we had about 100 different video clips for this task and half of the clips were only a few seconds each. This task also got us using a wider variety of camera angles, however the the sound on this prelim was not so important because we were using the original soundtrack from the trailer.

• Final Cut Pro - We had previously used this software in our swede task so the controls were much easier this time round. But we did learn how to remove sound from a video clip by separating the image and the audio. We also had to edit our clips together in a way that you would only see some frames for a split second before the image changed, we found that to be quite time consuming. We also learned how to use filters over video files which proved very useful when making final touches. We also learned some more file converting skills.

 • Mise-en-scene - In doing this task we got to practice more with costume and makeup, this will be an essensial skill when making our trailer. We also learned how to get our actors so show expressions which represent our genre.

Our chosen Genre for our trailer is horror, we learned a lot from our prelim about horror and film. We would like to develop our skills in making horror film by going on to creating our own horror trailer with our own original plot.
