Prelim Task

While creating our A2 prelim, Jane and I used different technologies in order to produce our work:
• Camera - Even though we had used a camera in our AS coursework, we had to think more about the camera angles and the lighting which means that this prelim gave us a deeper understanding on how to use a camera properly in order to have a good image and sound.
• Final Cut Pro - Final cut pro was not new to use. However the ring trailer constituted of a lot of short clips, so when it came to editing the clips that we took, we had to focus more in order for the ring trailer to look like the original one. While doing this we learnt many skills such as patient, and more about the different types of effects that we could use. We also learnt how to transfer files from a place to final cut pro which is essential as we will need this skill when it comes to our final construction.
 • Mise-en-scene - This skill was also very important as we had to make sure that the lighting was correct as well as the make-up. We learnt more about how to make someone look scary in order to fit the horror genre.

 As our genre we choose horror as we thought that we know a lot about it and we also knew that it might be easier to do a product based on horror as we have the basic knowledge of what a horror trailer consists of.
